Cipher 8's Video Game Central

What is this website?

Welcome to the site. I'm just getting started so this may not be as big as other sites such as IGN or GameSpot, places I would one day like to work for but nevertheless I'll be doing previews for upcoming games and talking about their key features as well as reviewing and some games after their release. I'll also blog from time to time and do write ups about anything and everything to do with gaming in general. News, Rumors, Tactics and Strategies on specific titles I'll try to cover it all. Please stop by as often as you like and feel free to leave a comment with your thoughts and opinions on anything as well as suggestions for what you would like to see me cover and well, Enjoy the site!

A little bit about me and my gaming history...

Well I'm a big time gamer and I say that proudly. Video games are a big part of my life and I'm not ashamed to say that. I've played a ton of games going back to the old school consoles like Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo, the last gen systems like Gamecube and Xbox, and I now play on both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. I enjoy all types of games. I don't have a favorite genre but I do play some more than others. I try to play a good variety of them but like every gamer I do have my taste in the games I enjoy.

Not only do I enjoy playing games on a daily basis but I enjoy looking into and following upcoming games. I do this site for fun but I would like to get into this professionally. A lot of my time is spent researching games that have yet to come out and while I'm not officially a part of any media outlet with special access to information I usually am quick on gathering all the new info that is released. I have to get better at my writing ability and devote more of my time to this if I want to be taken seriously but for now I'll be doing my best with the resources available to me and I hope you enjoy reading my previews for games that I'm interested in and reviewing the games that I buy with my personal funds since I don't get review copies for free. I simply won't be able to cover every game that comes out.

For a list of the game's that I have played or I am currently playing I'll let these various tracking services show you my gaming habits. I signed up for this site which tracks the games I've played and the amount of days I've played them. The below widget also tracks how many hours I've spent on each game as well as a list of last time I've played them.
The thing is neither site is a entirely accurate representation of my gaming habits for a couple of reasons. The first reason is because the hours/days tracked don't record all the way back to when I spent the most time and had the most fun on games. The first site only counts from 2008 on, which was when I signed up at the site. The above widget I signed up for in June 2010.

I've played so many other games and for more hours, such as Rainbow Six Vegas which I cannot even begin to fathom how many hours I put into that game. Same for Shadowrun and a few other games I played before 2008. Those two sites don't track those statistics but they do a good job of keeping tabs of my recent gaming habits and will continue to do so going forward.

The weekly and monthly most played list (not the All filter) in the above widget is a good indication of how much time I spend on the games I'm playing now. The days played per title from the 360voice site I linked above is accurate since 2008 and will continue to track the amount of time I spend on current and future titles.

Also for a more gamerscore orientated history (not that I care much about achievements anymore) check this out.

If you wish to add me on either system, here are my gamertags. I rarely play my PS3 and I usually only get games that are Sony exclusives so if I don't respond or accept the friend request that's because I simply never turn the thing on preferring my Xbox 360 and the Xbox Live service.
